Cloudera has developed a 4-day, hands on and intensive "Application Architecture Boot Camp" for our Partners. This Boot Camp provides many of the same best practices learnings one would normally receive through several shadowing engagements and lots of trial and error.

The training will be:

  • 4-days - Fast Paced, High Intensity, Hands On/Lab Challenged Focus
  • Taught by Cloudera Sr. Solution Architects (our Top Experts)
  • Designed for Cloudera Trained and Certified individuals, with focus on increasing hands on knowledge and experience

Description

 Upon completion of the Architecture Boot Camp students will be able to:

  • Upon completion of this course, the successful candidate will:
  • Complete code projects for three or more use cases
  • Tune applications to a specified level of efficiency
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply discussion to project work 
  • Develop working applications for MapReduce & Spark
  • Write complex queries in Hive and Impala

Duration

4 Days

Prerequisites

  • Students must have attended Cloudera’s Hadoop for Developers course
  • Students must earn CCAD (Developer) certification before attending
    • Verification of the Certification License Number will be required prior to attending the class.
  • The CCAH (Administrator) certification is not suitable for this course 
  • The course focuses on application development
  • Lab work is not elective; instructors review student results
  • Course pace depends on knowledge Hadoop technologies & coding practice


Before attending the SEBC, students must know how to:

  • Use Flume and Sqoop to land data in a cluster
  • Use Hive and Impala to write queries
  • Write MapReduce and Spark jobs
  • Write code using public APIs and documentation
  • Use Maven to manage project dependencies
  • Use git/GitHub to manage code and other files

Setup Requirements

  • Participants are required to bring a laptop with wireless internet capability
  • Labs/challenges are run on remote clusters
  • Students may connect to company systems to create clusters/run labs; however, instructors must also be able to access to review work
  • Participants need a GitHub account for receiving course materials
  • Participants need an AWS account
    • You'll create 4-5 EC2 instances for your labs
  • Groups from one Partner can share a VPC or cluster
  • Use Cloudera Director for rapid provisioning

Initial set up/orientation time is ~2 hours -- do this before class starts!
